EconInbox
Economics can often be taught in an abstract way, using things like “widgets” to illustrate a point. Students engage more with real-world applications of economics.
The issue for most professors and teachers is they don’t have the time to curate the news articles, videos, etc., to bring in the most salient and recent examples of economics into the classroom. That’s where EconInbox comes in. We not only spend the time to hunt through news articles, videos, podcasts, and graphics to find those that are perfect for econ class, but we also pair them with classroom resources (homework, discussion q’s, etc.).
We deliver that content in a weekly email that is synced to teacher’s classroom schedule. So yes, we literally take their syllabus and class start date and schedule their emails to come just when they’re doing their class planning.
We’ve seen tremendous growth in subscribers to this service. As far as I know, it’s the only service of this kind in any discipline (although some of the textbook publishers have heard of it and so I wouldn’t be surprised to see some copycats!).
